Council approves consent agenda and special-event permit; motions pass unanimously

The Moab City Council approved two items during the Feb. 25 regular meeting: the consent agenda and a Level 2 special-event permit for the 2025 Moab Women’s Festival.

Consent agenda: The council voted to approve the minutes of the Feb. 11, 2025 regular meeting and bills against the city totaling $1,139,708.98. The motion to approve the consent agenda was moved by Caitlin and seconded by Colin; the chair called for the ayes and stated the motion passed 3–0.

Special-event permit: The council approved a Level 2 special-event permit for the 2025 Moab Women’s Festival at the Archway Inn, which may draw attendance higher than last year’s limit of 200 per day. Staff said organizers worked with city requirements for beer-garden fencing and ID checks and that no issues arose last year. The motion to approve the permit was moved by Caitlin and seconded by Tawny; the chair called the motion passed 3–0.
