Councilmembers debated the accuracy of the Feb. 11 meeting minutes on Feb. 25 after a councilmember asked that comments he made be added to the record.
A councilmember said comments made by Councilmember Ambergi and other remarks were left out of the draft minutes and asked the town clerk to “review the video and adjust the minutes more thoroughly.” Another member said the normal practice is for the person requesting changes to provide a written list of edits so the entire board knows what is being proposed; legal counsel confirmed that practice is typical but not mandatory.
Councilmember (moving the request) made a motion that the town clerk review the Feb. 11 minutes and make “accordingly adjustments.” The motion passed and was recorded with discussion. Later in the meeting, the council held a separate vote on approving the minutes from the last meeting. That approval vote passed with the meeting minutes left as originally provided; the transcript recorded “Miss Puhalik, Mr. Also Brooks, Mr. Gay against Mr. Anberge and Mr. Barber,” reflecting split votes on the final approval.
Councilmembers debating the item referenced both regular-session discussion and remarks made as they left the meeting; the clerk and staff agreed to review the video and accept proposed edits if provided in writing so changes could be clearly presented and voted on at a future meeting. The transcript does not show the clerk making edits that night; the clerk was directed to review and return updated minutes for council consideration.
