POMPANO BEACH, Fla. — Multiple residents used public comment at the Feb. 25 Pompano Beach City Commission meeting to call attention to a persistent encampment and perceived lack of enforcement outside the county shelter on Blount Road, and to warn the situation could worsen without action.
Resident Chandra King described large numbers of people sleeping on sidewalks near the shelter and reported seeing as many as 50 people and “massage tables” and other activity on the property’s frontage. King said it appears the residents are not getting help and urged the city and county to act.
