The proposed tenant space is roughly 2,720–2,800 square feet at 2724–2726 Dundee Road in a neighborhood commercial center; because the indoor amusement/physical activity use exceeds 2,500 square feet it requires a special permit and triggers a parking-variation request.
Audrey Jones, owner of Little Mountain Gymnastics, told trustees she plans to staff the business initially as a single coach and that parents will remain in the facility (no drop-off service). Proposed hours were listed as 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily as a maximum; Jones said Sundays would likely be reserved for birthday parties and she would not be operating the full block of hours every day.
Trustees noted safety concerns for child pick-up and drop-off and asked staff and the Plan Commission to review circulation and parking. Trustee Israel moved to refer the matter to the Plan Commission; Trustee Abomey Allen seconded and the motion passed.
Next steps: The Plan Commission will set a public hearing and review the special-permit and parking-variation requests and return a recommendation to the Village Board.
