City staff used the Feb. 25 State of the City presentation to detail several capital projects and community events affecting parks, roads and local tourism.
Phil Lozano, parks and recreation director, told the council that the Village Park fishing pier is being renovated in-house as part of the 2022 bond program. "We're doing all the work in house that's getting major improvements such as a new deck, new vertical uprights, and then also major drainage improvements that will stop the erosion. And we're anticipating that it'll be open in spring of 2025," Lozano said.
