Board adopts resolution approving public utility easement abandonment for Lake Comanche Village merger

The Amador County Board of Supervisors on Feb. 25 adopted a resolution approving abandonment of a 5-foot public utility easement related to a certificate of merger for Lots 284 and 249 in the Lake Comanche Village subdivision.

Roger Pitto, Amador County surveyor, said the application began in late 2023, the initial controversy over merging was resolved, and the county’s surveying and mapping practice has changed since the subdivision maps were recorded in the 1960s–1980s. He recommended approval and said many mapped sideline or crossing easements from that era are obsolete because modern service lines typically run off the front of lots.
