The Oldham County Planning and Zoning Commission on Feb. 25 considered a development plan for the proposed Griffith Event Center, a 22,400-square-foot venue on a 7.033-acre lot along Commerce Parkway in LaGrange. Staff said the plan conforms to Industrial Park District (IPD) standards but noted several permitting and off-site mitigation issues that must be resolved before construction.
Anna Barge, Senior Planner, told the commission the site is undeveloped, sits adjacent to the drive-in theatre and that event venues are a permitted use in IPD zoning. She said the applicant proposes 184 parking spaces (180 required) and that their materials show a proposed detention basin near Commerce Parkway and a blue-line stream along the east property edge that the plan does not propose to disturb.
