The auditors presented detailed financial statements and a required-communications letter at the work session. Bill Early, principal at CLA, said the audit was not issued by the Sept. 30 deadline required by the Maryland State Department of Education because of the new system implementation, but that the delay “was not an indication of any wrongdoing, any illegal activity, any fraudulent activity. It was merely a timing issue,” and that the audit has now been issued and sent to the state.
