Council OKs special-use permit for tattoo and body-piercing studio at Southeast 29th Street

The Del City Council voted to approve a special-use permit to allow a tattoo and body-piercing studio at 4711 and 4713 Southeast 29th Street. The planning commission had approved the request on Jan. 30, 2025; the council action authorized the mayor to endorse the ordinance.
During the public hearing the council asked for audience comment. Jeremy Golden, who identified himself as a Del City resident and Del City High School graduate, said he is trying to open a tattoo shop in Del City and described the business as a normal, locally desired service. “There’s a lot of people live in Del City who would like to benefit from a tattoo shop that’s local,” Golden said on the record.
There was no other public opposition recorded on the council floor. The council voted unanimously to approve the special-use permit; the council vote was recorded as aye by Councilwoman Brown, Councilman Tatum, Councilman Dean and the chair.
