Chemung County committees approve routine vendor agreements, grant applications; several items postponed

The buildings and grounds committee approved an extension of purchase agreements with vendors supplying lumber, HVAC parts and miscellaneous building materials for the county Department of Buildings and Grounds. The motions in both committees passed on voice votes.
At the multi‑services committee, members approved several items including a procurement resolution for Phoenix Graphics Inc. on behalf of the Board of Elections, a purchase agreement for MA Police Consulting Inc. for the county Information Technology Department, two applications for U.S. Department of Transportation rural and tribal assistance pilot program grants through the planning department, and other routine items. Committee members postponed one application for an Empire State Development Infrastructure Grant so the county could clarify which entity — the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) or the Southern Tier Economic Growth (STEG) partnership — will lead the proposal, then rescheduled that item for further review at a meeting next Monday.
Several sewer‑district items were also taken up: the committee approved a change order for a contractor on planning/council work, issued a Type II determination pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 617 for various Chemung County Sewer District capital projects, and set public‑hearing directions for proposed sewer improvements and changes to the scale of charges. One procurement item awarding bids to FlashParking Inc. for the Information Technology Department was postponed again because requested information remained incomplete.
The personnel committee approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with Excellus Group Plan through the Broome County purchasing alliance for a Medicare Advantage PPO for Chemung County Medicare retirees.
