Resident urges creation of Boca Raton cyber police task force and reports death threats; city says paperwork received and police will be contacted

At the public-request portion of the workshop, Anastasia Colas told the council she submitted paperwork proposing a Boca Raton cyber police task force and said she had received telephone threats, including one she described as a death threat, after pursuing the idea.
Colas said she has registered a volunteer request and brought paperwork explaining her proposal and the incidents she described. “Since I'm risking my life by coming here, I simply ask that the paperwork that I've left be actually, looked at,” she said.
Mayor and council members acknowledged receipt of Colas' paperwork. A council member encouraged Colas to contact the Police Services Department about threats and said staff would review the paperwork. The mayor said: “We have your paperwork, we'll certainly look, you can have a seat, we'll, we have your paperwork, we'll certainly look at it.” Council members urged her to work with police regarding any threats.
