Board members said the trail would be roughly six-tenths of a mile and that the planning estimate is about $250,000. One board member said the town has secured a “fair amount of money donated,” but the donor organization was not named; another member advised not to publicize the donor until the group is ready.
Park staff confirmed a survey of low and high spots has been completed and that a drainage plan is being developed. Members discussed timing: if work goes forward, construction was tentatively expected after Little League season (the board noted Little League ends in late June or July). "If we could start two weeks earlier in May, it's an extra games total," one member observed about scheduling impacts.
Board members also discussed how the trail ties to wider planning work and noted that the town will pursue a phased RFP approach so bid responses break out costs for specific elements. The board asked staff to report back on donor identification and next procurement steps.
