Adams County recognizes finance team, proclaims Greater Arvada Chamber centennial; routine agenda and consent votes approved

Adams County commissioners on Feb. 25 opened the meeting by recognizing the county Budget and Finance Department for receiving a certificate of achievement for excellence in public finance reporting and an award of financial reporting achievement from the Government Finance Officers Association.

Nancy Duncan, Budget and Finance Director, thanked staff and introduced team members recognized at the meeting: Kevin Campbell, Laura Garcia, Nick Beston, Jennifer Aswood, Dominique DeAngelo, Jill Donahue, Dorian McPherson and Marie Sternberg (Sky Thomas was noted as absent). Commissioners praised the team’s work on transparency and financial reporting; one commissioner thanked the group for enabling policy discussions by documenting county finances.

The board also issued a proclamation recognizing the Greater Arvada Chamber of Commerce on its 100th anniversary and noted the Brighton Chamber of Commerce’s 70th anniversary earlier this month. Commissioner Henson read the proclamation recognizing the Greater Arvada Chamber’s rebrand announcement and its year-long centennial digital campaign.

On routine business, the board approved the meeting agenda (vote 5-0) and the consent calendar (vote 5-0). The county attorney requested an executive session pursuant to the Colorado statute cited in the public record as “Colorado revised statute 24 6 4 0 2 4 a” for the purpose of discussing a potential lease of county property; the board voted 5-0 to enter that executive session.

There were no public comments or elected-official communications at the meeting.
