Board approves consent agenda, facility repairs, sponsorships and consultant agreements

The Pine-Richland School District board approved its consent agenda and a set of facilities and operational contracts during the Feb. 24 meeting, voting to move forward on gym repairs, roof design and other projects listed on the agenda.
Key approvals included a $37,647 contract with Sports Floors Inc. for gym floor repairs and refinishing at Pine-Richland Middle School; a $72,000 contract with Florida Consulting LLC to design and oversee a roof replacement at Wexford Elementary; a $285,000 phase-1 terrazzo floor replacement at the high school by Allegheny Insulation; seasonal landscape services for the high school/middle school campus by Sarver Landscape for $14,350; and a sponsorship agreement with Allegheny Health Network generating $10,000 per year for three school years ($30,000 total) as listed on the agenda.
The board also approved consultant agreements to support Eden Hall Upper Elementary during short-term staffing needs and approved a purchase recommendation for SPIRE intervention curriculum (presented for March consideration). Consent items 3.02 through 3.09 were approved as a block. All votes on these agenda items passed during the meeting; the approvals were presented as action items in the consent or facilities sections and passed by voice votes unless a roll call is recorded below.
Board members and staff noted that some projects are components of larger refresh efforts — for example the middle-school gym work is part of a broader $125,000 refresh project that will include upgraded backboards and raising mechanisms — and administrators said remaining quotes and procurement steps are in process for related equipment and future phases.
The meeting record shows the motions for these projects were made, seconded and approved; the board also reviewed other informational items, including a food-service procurement process and plans to present a recommended food-service vendor and evaluation scoring to the board at a future meeting.
