Brentwood commission approves consent agenda including Murray Lane rock-wall rebuild

The Brentwood Board of Commissioners on Monday approved its consent agenda, adopting an ordinance on second reading and multiple resolutions covering development, roadway work, personnel rules and a reconstruction agreement for historic rock walls along Murray Lane.
On the consent agenda the commission approved: Ordinance 2025-3 (rezoning 0.41 acres west of Split Log Road from OSRD to R2); Resolution 2025-15 (alteration to OSRD development for Rosebrook South subdivision); Resolution 2025-16 (change order with ProShot Concrete Inc. for pipe repair and lining); Resolution 2025-17 (change order with 4 Star Paving LLC for annual roadway repairs and improvements); Resolution 2025-18 (donation, sale and disposal of surplus city property); Resolution 2025-19 (revisions to the city—s personnel rules and regulations); Resolution 2025-20 (agreement with Moody Grade Works to rebuild historic rock wall along Murray Lane); approvals to transfer surplus property among local fire departments; approval of the street surfacing list for fiscal year 2026; and approval to purchase four mobile radios for police vehicles. The consent agenda passed by a single motion and unanimous voice vote.
Commissioner Spears, in remarks earlier in the meeting, described the Murray Lane work and thanked staff. She said the plan is to rebuild "approximately 1,650 feet" of rock wall along the Murray Lane corridor between Franklin Road and Brentwood High School and that the work would be done in segments over the next several months. She credited Todd Hoppenstatt and the public-works crew for the project and asked staff to proceed with the contracted work.
Interim City Manager Jay Evans told the commission there will be intermittent lane closures on Concord Road the following day for debris clearing at a culvert. He also advised drivers near the new Swig location on Harpeth Drive to avoid eastbound left turns due to traffic flow.
The commission opened the meeting with a statement that all commissioners were present and later approved the minutes from the Feb. 10 meeting before taking the consent vote. No items were pulled from the consent agenda for separate discussion.
