Public health to accept $8,000 WIC grant to translate nutrition materials for non-English speakers

Priti said the WIC program currently serves about 65 families who speak languages other than English or Spanish; examples cited in the briefing included Arabic, Korean and Burmese (and the Kareni community was mentioned during Q&A). Commissioners asked whether the program had been affected by disruptions at the federal level; staff replied that it had not.
No formal vote was recorded during the briefing; staff presented the budget amendment for approval at the business meeting.
