Wright County engineer reports snow response, recycled concrete stockpile and bridge progress

Wright County Engineer Adam Clemens told the Board of Supervisors the secondary roads crew responded to blowing snow and drifting on Feb. 16, completed 12 work orders and is stockpiling broken concrete from a local plant for future use as riprap and roadstone.
Clemens said Yonco’s concrete supply sold to Semstone; county crews have permission to collect broken concrete from the plant and are stockpiling it in Eagle Grove. The county plans to crush a recycled concrete pile into 3/4- to 1-inch roadstone for shouldering and spot rock needs. Clemens also reported that contractors were pouring a footing on the east side of a bridge project and expected to finish piers and abutments on that side before moving to the west side.
The update included a note that some recycled concrete already crushed by Sadler Construction is stored at the county heat roof shed. The engineer said crews will monitor site conditions as work continues.
No formal action was taken; the briefing provided operational status and next steps for materials reuse and bridge construction.
