Supervisors review updated courthouse safety plans; committee to continue revisions and drills planned

Jeff Franzen and the presenter asked for the board's guidance rather than final signoff because the documents remain drafts and the safety committee does not have formal voting authority. Board members responded positively, recommended holding final approval until revisions are complete and supported scheduled drills and additional office-level protocols. One supervisor suggested withholding formal approval until minor edits are made; others said a verbal go-ahead for continued work was appropriate.
The presenter said the committee will consider a software-based alerting tool to supplement or replace physical safety buttons and will present further updates at the committee's next meeting on March 17.
