Committee approves in-home services contracts at $35/hour for county senior care

Saratoga County—s Health and Human Services Committee on Feb. 4 approved contracts with three home care agencies to provide personal care services for eligible seniors under the county—s Expanded In-Home Services for the Elderly (EISEP) program.
Sandy Cross, representing the county aging and youth program, said the county will continue contracts with Greater Adirondack, Wesley Senior Solutions and Visiting Nurses Home Care at a rate of $35 per hour and that the rate is unchanged from the prior year.
Cross described the program—s assessment-based eligibility: the county provides level 1 and level 2 personal care depending on whether a senior can perform activities of daily living independently. The county conducts assessments and assigns services accordingly.
A committee member moved and the committee approved the resolution by voice vote. No amendments or rate increases were proposed during the discussion.
