Adams County supervisors authorize phase 1 of Morgantown Road work, OK contract signing and temporary bridge work

In a separate motion the board authorized the board president to sign contract C044 so the contractor can begin work on a Livon/Lofton Lane (EWP) segment; that motion also passed by voice vote.
EWP and phase 1 approval: County staff recommended proceeding with phase 1 design and construction for EWP project C044 (work including Lofton Lane, Brooklyn Drive and Churchill Road). Supervisor Dean moved and Supervisor Gray seconded a motion to proceed; the board voted in favor.
Burke Road bridge and temporary works: The board discussed survey marks and right-of-way limits at the Burke Road bridge site and authorized staff to remove fencing, clear trees and install a temporary bridge at locations within the county right of way. Federal funding requirements for a 50-year permit were noted; staff said they were proceeding under existing permits and would obtain required state approvals for long-term work.
Why it matters: The projects are intended to repair failing drainage and road segments, restore travel routes and reduce recurring emergency repairs. Board members repeatedly urged earlier coordination among utilities, engineers and county staff to reduce delays and unexpected costs.
