Assistant Mr. Pate presented the gifts summary to the board: two donations above $5,000 (Bowie Elementary PTA and Lake Highlands Elementary PTA, the latter $8,708), 18 gifts under $5,000 totaling $20,778.26, and a grand total of $38,991.98 for the month. Superintendent Branham recommended the board accept the gifts over $5,000 as presented.
Trustee Timmy moved to approve the larger gifts; Trustee McGowan seconded. The board approved the motion 7-0. Trustees discussed a clarification: the Lake Highlands donation will fund two tutors who pull small groups during and after school.
District staff thanked PTAs and community partners for supporting campus-level programs, tutoring and enrichment services.
