Richardson ISD board approves 2023–24 annual performance report after public hearing

At its February meeting, the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees voted 7-0 to approve the districtannual performance report for 202324 after a public hearing at which no members of the public spoke.
The report, compiled from the Texas Academic Performance Report provided by the Texas Education Agency and related campus and financial reports, was presented by Dr. Ortiz and recommended for approval by Superintendent Branham. Dr. Ortiz told the board the TAPR presentation was a statutory requirement and that "the data is all from the prior year" and had been previously reviewed in district presentations.
The TAPR package presented to the board includes the official Texas Academic Performance Report, PEIMS financial standards reports, campus performance objectives, special education determinations, reports on violent or criminal incidents, and postsecondary performance information from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The presentation emphasized that the materials are posted on the district accountability website and that hard copies are available on request.
Trustee Eager moved to approve the 202324 annual performance report; Trustee Entreria seconded the motion. The board voted 7-0 in favor. Board President Chris Boteet declared the public hearing closed at 6:51 p.m.
The approval is procedural but required by statute; it places the compiled information in a single public record for community access and begins whatever follow-up the board or administration determines necessary based on the report's findings.
