Under HB44, those day program employees would be allowed "at the expense of the day program or themselves to opt into that system so that they can have state requirement," Chairman Hill said. Committee members discussed administrative arrangements briefly; Representative Sales confirmed the employees are paid either by the school system or by the county and thus would be able to receive retirement benefits either way.
