USD 383 reviews district technology report, board approves Cisco equipment purchase

She also referenced recommendations to review Internet filtering services and increase user supports for families and students.
Superintendent Eric Reed and technology staff presented an annual technology report that, according to the packet, addressed Blue Ribbon Task Force suggestions and steps to improve consistency across buildings. The report was included in the board packet on page 56 and prompted comments from several board members thanking staff for responding to parent concerns.
On a separate, related action the board voted to give final approval to purchase Cisco equipment from K12 ITC Menlo of Kansas City, Missouri. Board member Katie moved the purchase; Greg seconded. The motion passed 7-0. The amount listed in the motion and agenda packet was "$100,099,779," as read into the record during the meeting.
