Liberty board elects Brian Parks president, Chris Kenyon vice president

Brian Parks was elected board president at the Liberty Elementary School District governing board’s organizational meeting on Jan. 13, 2025. The motion to elect Parks passed 3–2, and Chris Kenyon was elected vice president unanimously.

The reorganization took place at 4:30 p.m. before the district’s study session. Vice President Chris Kenyon opened the organizational business and called for nominations. A motion to approve Brian Parks as board president beginning Jan. 13, 2025, was made and seconded; the board recorded a 3–2 outcome in favor of Parks. Later, board member Chris Kenyon was nominated and elected as vice president by a unanimous vote of members present.

The organizational votes were procedural and brief; no additional policy or personnel actions were taken during the organizational portion of the meeting. The board then adjourned the organizational meeting and proceeded to the scheduled study session and orientation for new board members.

Board leadership is chosen each January under the district’s customary practice. After the regular meeting later that evening, the board noted President Parks was absent for the 5:30 p.m. session because he was ill.
