Goose Creek CISD presents HR update highlighting recruitment, retention work and $1.3 million in TIA bonuses

Goose Creek CISD human resources staff told the board on Feb. 17 that the district continues to focus on recruiting, retaining and developing teachers amid statewide staffing pressures.
Assistant Superintendent Matt Bollinger and HR staff reviewed class size, teacher demographics, years of experience and retention trends. Bollinger said the district'level year'over'year data showed slight increases in teacher experience, and he highlighted a reduction in the proportion of first'year teachers from about 14% to 8.6% over the past two years.
