Principals report winter athletics, academic qualifiers and upcoming events across district schools

Oak Forest reported an Illinois Music Association All-State Choir selection (Logan Marchese) and multiple state qualifiers: five boys wrestling qualifiers (Jason Schickel, Jake Siebeck, Austin Prez, Jason Jenke and Andrea Svessel), two girls wrestling state qualifiers (Isabel Perlata and Yoyo Odiase), and a competitive dance team continuing a long streak of state appearances. Oak Forest also listed upcoming events including a regional girls basketball championship appearance and a community talent show with a free breakfast hosted by Oak Forest Rotary.
A Hillcrest representative reported a senior girls wrestler, Christy R. Finley, entered state competition with a 28-0 record and regional, sectional and SSC championships; the school also celebrated milestones for its boys basketball coach Don Houston and recognized alumni contributions.
