Votes at a glance: Aransas Pass council approves grants, reappointments, contracts and property directives

At its Feb. 17, 2025 meeting the Aransas Pass City Council approved a series of administrative and operational items, including board reappointments, grant applications, a request-for-proposals and post-executive-session directions on property and a harbor lease.

Library board reappointments: The council reappointed Cammie Hyatt, Deborah Coleman and Mary Smith Kegler to two-year terms on the Aransas Pass Library Board, with terms expiring in February 2027. Librarian director Lillian Villarreal recommended the reappointments; council approved by voice vote.

Council procedures: The council approved an update to its policies restricting motions to reconsider so that a motion to reconsider can only be made at the meeting where the original item was first voted upon. The change was discussed at the Feb. 3 meeting and was reflected in the policy…
