Commissioner Tyson presented the policy, which the policy committee adopted on Feb. 13. Commissioner Adams voiced concern about a provision that would allow committee recommendations to be moved to the consent agenda at full board meetings; Adams said items generated by a three-member committee that receive unanimous committee support should appear as items of business on the regular meeting agenda rather than automatically being placed on consent so all board members can fully review them.
Attorney Moorefield participated in the discussion; Commissioner Tyson moved to adopt the policy as presented by the policy committee. The motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The board did not modify the policy on the floor; staff and the policy committee will continue to administer the committee workflow per the adopted document.
