Planning commission recommends annexation policy plan for council consideration

Tocqueville’s Planning Commission voted to recommend adoption of the city’s annexation policy plan and will forward that recommendation to the City Council.
The Tocqueville City Planning Commission voted Feb. 12 to recommend that the City Council adopt the city’s annexation policy plan. Staff said the commission had reviewed the plan at the December meeting and identified affected adjacent entities and special service districts; no public comments were received during the meeting.
Emily, a planning department staff member, told commissioners the commission had one last public hearing and staff needed a recommendation to send the plan to city council. The commission opened and closed the public hearing without public testimony and then approved the motion to recommend adoption “as is.” The recommendation will be forwarded to the City Council for final action.
