The proclamation also noted his appointment to the New Jersey Puerto Rican Commission and involvement with multiple community organizations.
Under Sheriff Cuadrado addressed the commissioners and attendees. He said the recognition was a surprise and thanked the board and county administration. "This career has been a profound part of my life. It was a surprise to me this morning to receive this news. I have loved deeply and worked tirelessly for, I am grateful for this recognition and for the opportunity to reflect on my journey," he said. He thanked Sheriff Bertnick and later Sheriff Thomas Adamo, his officers and his family, and asked for "a moment of silence for Sheriff Burtnick." He also said he would continue working in a civilian capacity with the Passaic County Sheriff's Office.
