The City of Euless City Council unanimously approved a consent agenda of routine purchases, contracts and administrative items and adopted an ordinance renewing the city’s youth program standards of care.
Assistant City Manager Viera read ten consent items that included: authorization to purchase Toro irrigation supplies and replacement parts for Texas Star golf course and parks (sole‑source Toro commercial equipment); an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County for asphalt overlay improvements scheduled to begin March 2025 and complete by August 2025; purchase of 10 portable radios and accessories for the school resource officer program to be reimbursed by HEB ISD under an interlocal agreement; structured data cabling supplies and services from Single Telecommunications LLC; police vehicle equipment purchases through GT Distributors under a cooperative purchasing program; authorization to buy AquaMetric water meters and transponders as the city's sole‑source AMI distributor; a contract with New Edge Services LLC for additional software implementation services for planning and economic development; approval of a proposed budget calendar for fiscal year 2025–26 (including the Crime Control and Prevention District and Euless Development Corporation budgets) via Resolution 25‑1670; rescheduling August 2025 council meetings and approving Resolution 25‑1671; and approval of the Jan. 28, 2025 council meeting minutes.
During the public hearing on the youth program standards ordinance (ordinance 24‑16), Parks & Community Services staff member Mr. Strahan said the ordinance is the annual request that exempts the Parks & Community Services, Police and Fire Department youth camp activities from day‑care licensing requirements as allowed by the Texas Legislature, and that staff had met required postings and submitted program standards. There were no public comments, and the council approved the ordinance on first and final reading.
The consent agenda was moved, seconded and approved unanimously; the youth‑program ordinance passed on first and final reading with no public opposition recorded.
