Mount Pleasant Town Council on Feb. 11 gave first reading to an amended development agreement and a plan development (PD) ordinance for Patriots Annex, the waterfront portion of Patriots Point, after months of review and further committee discussion.
The PD application would carry over most entitlements from the existing Waterfront Gateway zoning while memorializing additional, site-specific commitments from the developer. Planning staff and planning-committee members described the PD as a tool to lock in items such as additional open space and lower residential density that the developer has offered while preserving flexibility for technical adjustments before final approval.
