Indian Trail — The Town Council voted unanimously to authorize the town manager, with staff participation, to work with WBT radio on a live two-hour town-hall broadcast spotlighting Indian Trail projects and allowing public interaction, council said.
Radio host and WBT representative Mark Garrison described the proposed format as a two-hour, noncommercial town hall moderated by town staff, with council members present and the public able to ask questions. Council members and staff said they had met with WBT and were optimistic the program could be scheduled in spring following daylight saving-time changeover; staff proposed bringing a proposed format back to council for final input before production.
Council member Clarence moved for authorization; the motion passed unanimously. Manager and staff said Abby (staff) and the manager would develop the format, with the council reviewing and approving the final structure and promotional plan. The meeting noted WBT’s broad reach and potential publicity value for Indian Trail.
Council members said the event would give residents a live forum to ask questions about planning, CIP priorities and other town initiatives and described it as an opportunity to promote the town’s accomplishments.
