The Department of Public Works confirmed the Vision Zero administrator position is posted and under review.
The work matters because the task force and administration intend the action plan to guide capital and operating budget requests. Chair Barth and several councilors said the first draft is timed to feed the 2026 budget process so priorities in the plan can receive funding commitments.
"Traffic fatalities are preventable through thoughtful planning, community engagement, and strategic action," Chair Barth said in opening remarks, framing the task force's long‑term goal and the need to coordinate city and council efforts.
