City of Chatuchakie to continue summer paving using Measure S revenue and grants

Greg, a City of Chatuchakie representative, said the city will continue a 10-year pavement management plan this summer, using Measure S revenue and some grant funds to pave a set of prioritized streets.
“Thank you again for voting for Measure S,” Greg said. “You’ve noticed, I hope, in the last 2 years, over the last 2 summer seasons, we’ve done a lot of paving in the City Of Chatuchakie. That’s a direct result of that revenue coming into the city.”
Don Marsh, a City of Chatuchakie staff member, gave the details of streets the city plans to pave. Marsh said the city is targeting the north side of the railroad tracks, including H Street, I Street and J Street, for this summer’s work. He also said the city plans to pave Denison in front of the Tehachapi Event Center and Denison from Tehachapi Boulevard to the high school and to Georgia Street.
Marsh said Curry Street from C Street to Valley Street could be paved depending on the available budget. He also said the city secured grant funding to complete the second half of Valley Boulevard from Beach Street to Tucker Road.
City officials framed street selection as condition-based priorities within the pavement management plan. Marsh summarized the approach: “We prioritize our streets based on their condition and, looking forward to continuing with our pavement management plan.”
Officials encouraged residents to use caution in construction zones and to contact city staff for more details about the summer schedule and affected segments.
