Grand Rapids Public Schools facilities staff provided a bond and construction update at the Feb. 10 board meeting, outlining active projects, summer schedules and next steps for several schools and district sites.
Alex Mark, representing the facilities program, described summer-phase work at Sibley and Coit (phase 2), ongoing construction at 6B to prepare the building to receive students next fall, and site and systems work at Kuwait (HVAC, generator replacement and parking lot resurfacing). Mark said the district is phasing work when possible to complete major scope while students are out of the buildings.
