Collierville board approves FY2025 general fund amendment to accept health grant, insurance reimbursements and donations

On Feb. 10, 2025, the Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved Resolution 2025-05, amending the town's fiscal year 2025 general fund to recognize a Tennessee Department of Health grant of $144,750.44 for ambulance medical equipment, insurance reimbursements, and several donations.
Budget officer JP Spas told the board that Fire and Rescue would recognize and appropriate a Tennessee Department of Health award of $144,750.44 "to purchase medical equipment for the ambulances." He also said Fire and Rescue would recognize donations totaling $3,100 toward the purchase of a replacement rescue boat. Parks and Recreation would recognize an insurance reimbursement of $166,151.79 and appropriate $145,000 for replacement of Court No. 1 flooring at the H.W. Cox Community Center. The library would recognize donations totaling $7,760, and the court would appropriate $22,750 of unassigned general fund balance for court records shelving at the Stan Joyner Municipal Annex.
After staff presentation, an alderman moved to approve Resolution 2025-05. The motion carried on a roll-call vote with affirmative votes recorded by Aldermen Robbins, Hall, Jordan and Stamps and Mayor Maureen Frasier.
The amendments will allow departments to proceed with the indicated purchases and projects; staff remained available to answer follow-up questions after the vote.
