Heads Pond trail access ramp design and funding were discussed: one engineer reportedly indicated a potential reduction of about $5,000 from earlier cost estimates; commissioners said they will explore grant funding options and solicit competitive proposals for engineering work once funding and scope are clarified.
The commission also addressed recent maintenance issues on the Riverwalk Trail: a truck was reported on the trail and commissioners noted that some trail ends remain open; a fallen tree near the Brick Pond loop was cleared promptly by the Department of Public Works; and staff reported beaver mitigation work under the boathouse bridge, including trapping and partial removal of a beaver dam to lower water levels pending spring observations.
Commissioners assigned follow‑up tasks including notifying event organizers of the commission's cleanup participation, finalizing sign files for printing, and pursuing grant conversations for the Heads Pond project.
