Cedar Park EDC reports 200 active projects, highlights job announcements and Firefly Aerospace recognition

Arthur, economic development staff, told the Cedar Park Economic Development Corporation (Type A) board that the city’s economic development team is managing over 200 projects in its active pipeline and highlighted several recent company announcements and recognitions.
“Start of 2025 is actually no different than where we ended in 2024. Our team is still managing over 200 projects in our active pipeline,” Arthur said, describing the office’s definitions of preliminary, active and hot projects and noting the city’s fiscal year begins Oct. 1.
The staff presentation called out multiple company announcements. Through December, Arthur said, two announcements—Element USA and Zoteo Bio Biomedical—together totaled 38 jobs. He also noted a later announcement of “62 jobs by Innovus,” saying that brought the year’s total job announcements to about 200 so far and represented 66% of the board’s goal in the first four months of the fiscal year. Arthur said the team was tracking key performance indicators and was “above 50% completion rate toward our key performance indicators in the first 4 months across all areas but 2,” naming recruitment trips and business-retention-and-expansion (BRE) visits as behind pace.
Arthur also recognized Firefly Aerospace and thanked the Texas Space Commission. “I do wanna recognize and celebrate and give a huge congratulations to 1 of our very own companies, Firefly Aerospace,” Arthur said, and thanked the Texas Space Commission for its work on a rapid grant/award process.
Board members and staff praised the team’s momentum. One board member told staff to increase targets to reflect the higher pace of activity. Several speakers complimented staff work and the refreshed outreach that accompanied recent announcements.
The board convened an executive session under Texas Government Code chapter 551 to discuss economic development negotiations; that session was described on the record as using section 551.087 for deliberations regarding economic development prospects. The meeting returned to open session and approved minutes for prior meetings (see “Votes at a glance”).
The staff presentation emphasized the pipeline metrics and said more announcements were expected. Arthur said the team continues to receive new project interest weekly and credited expanded staff capacity with maintaining momentum.
