Wright County supervisors approve wage increases, liquor license and set budget amendment hearing

Wright County supervisors on Feb. 3 approved wage increases for three county employees, granted a liquor license to Oak Ridge Recreation Corporation and set a public hearing on a fiscal-year 2025 budget amendment.
The actions took place at the regular meeting of the Wright County Board of Supervisors, which Chairman Rasmussen called to order at 9:03 a.m. The board unanimously approved the meeting agenda and minutes from its Jan. 27 session before taking votes on departmental items and financial housekeeping.
The wage adjustments cover one employee in the treasurer's office (a $1,000 raise from a salary of $49,313.39), one in the recorder's office (a $1,500 raise from a salary of $50,000) and one in the sheriff's office (a $2,600 raise from a salary of $51,347.56). Supervisors approved the increases as presented, effective the day of the meeting.
The board approved a liquor license application for Oak Ridge Recreation Corporation, the golf course in Goldfield, without recorded opposition.
On county banking, supervisors approved Resolution 2025-08 naming depositories and adjusting maximum balances. The only change in the resolution increases the maximum balance at Greenbelt Bank & Trust in Belmont from $3,000,000 to $3,500,000. The resolution passed on a roll-call vote with all supervisors recorded as voting aye.
The board reviewed budget amendment documents for fiscal year 2025. The materials show a revenue increase of $252,370 and expense reductions totaling $533,518, producing an overall increase in carryover of $785,888. Supervisors voted to receive the budget amendment documents and set a public hearing on the amendments for March 3, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., consistent with notice-period requirements.
Other routine actions included reading and approving claims and receiving the semiannual report from the Wright County treasurer and a monthly revenue report prepared by the Wright County sheriff's office for the month ending Jan. 31, 2025 (the report listed car service fees and mileage of $1,886.07, weapons permit fees of $440 and copy fees of $50 for a total of $2,776.07). Motions to receive those reports were approved by the board.
Meeting minutes show votes or motions generally carried unanimously; where the record identified individual roll-call votes, supervisors Rasmussen, Fluss, Bosch, Luks and Ellis were recorded voting aye.
The board adjourned at the close of business.
For future action: the board will hold a public hearing on the FY2025 budget amendment at 9:30 a.m. on March 3, 2025.
