Union County commissioners preview agendas; departments report resolutions as meeting is set

The Union County Board of County Commissioners held an agenda-setting session in which department leaders briefly summarized items they will present at the board's next regular meeting, including a preservation item for the Homestead at Oak Ridge Park.
“The Prosecutor's office has 1 resolution on for this evening. I'd be happy to answer any and all questions you may have,” Union County Prosecutor Bill Daniel told the board. Deputy County Manager and Director of Economic Development Amy Chris Wagner said, “The Department of Economic Development has 1 resolution for your consideration, and I'd be happy to answer any questions.” Director Palakei, representing the Department of Engineering, Public Works and Facilities, told commissioners, “The Department of Engineering, Public Works and Facilities has 8 resos on the agenda. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.” Assistant Director Melissa Lespinase said the Department of Human Services has four resolutions. Director Durbin Drake said the parks department had three items, and Director Burke noted the Department of Public Safety had an item as well.
Before departmental reports, the chair read a statement announcing compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act, citing New Jersey Statutes Annotated Title 10, Chapter 4, Section 10, and saying the annual meeting schedule for 2025 had been posted and filed as required.
The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Mirabella moved to adjourn; Vice Chair Bodick seconded. The board responded with a voice vote of “aye,” and the agenda meeting was adjourned.
