The Benbrook City Council confirmed three appointments to the city's civil service commission at its Feb. 6, 2025 meeting.
Council was told that state law requires the city manager to appoint three members to the civil service commission with council confirmation. The city manager had offered the appointments to Benbrook residents Gary Ritchie (Place 1), Crystal Ramsey (Place 2) and Jeremy Kerwin (Place 3), and staff recommended council confirmation.
The council recorded the terms for each appointee as read into the record: Gary Ritchie's term for Place 1 beginning Feb. 6, 2025 and ending Feb. 5, 2028; Crystal Ramsey's Place 2 term beginning Feb. 6, 2025 and ending Feb. 5, 2027; and Jeremy Kerwin's Place 3 term beginning Feb. 6, 2025 and ending Feb. 5, 2026.
Councilmember Addison moved to confirm the appointments as recommended by Pat Fisher; Councilmember Franklin seconded. The motion carried unanimously. The council did not record additional discussion or questions on the appointments in the transcript.
The civil service commission consists of three members serving staggered three-year terms; the appointments fill the places and term dates specified in the staff report to the council.
