The William D. Cannon Art Gallery will open a solo exhibition by painter Frederick Hope titled “Silent Storytellers” on Feb. 7, with a soft opening scheduled for noon and a public reception on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 3 to 6 p.m., Cultural Arts staff said at the Feb. 6 Arts Commission meeting.
The exhibition, drawn from Hope’s Laguna Beach studio practice, includes large oil-on-panel paintings, oils on aluminum, and 36 graphite drawings, some with collage elements and gold leaf, Allison, cultural arts manager, told commissioners. "We are once again delighted to be presenting to you the upcoming exhibit at the William D. Cannon gallery," she said.
