District outlines Madison Early Childhood renovation and York vestibule security upgrades

Chris Walton, district facilities staff, told the board the district is advancing a major renovation at Madison Early Childhood Education Center intended to modernize spaces for three‑ to five‑year‑old students. The district explained the sensors are programmed to send email (and potentially text) alerts to York staff if a door is opened or held, enabling staff to respond quickly and review video for the specific incident window.

Representatives said the Madison renovation is designed to create age‑appropriate instructional spaces and improve safety and storage; administrators did not provide a construction timetable or total project cost during the presentation.
