The Leesburg Economic Development Commission on Feb. 5 approved its meeting agenda, accepted minutes of the Dec. 4, 2024 meeting and elected leadership for 2025.
The commission adopted the meeting agenda by voice vote after a motion and second. The minutes of the Dec. 4, 2024 EDC meeting were subsequently approved following a motion and second; commissioners recorded the approval for the record.
For 2025 the commission elected Robert Cunningham as chair and Angel Miranda as vice chair. Commissioners nominated and approved the two-person slate by voice vote. During the vote an abstention was recorded; no commissioners voiced opposition and the motion passed.
The commission's bylaws require that it select leadership annually; the newly elected chair and vice chair will serve as the commission's officers and representatives for the coming year. The meeting then proceeded to public comment and other agenda items.
