Committee forms ad-hoc panel to review nonprofit grants; volunteers named

The Committee on Legislative Approvals agreed Feb. 4 to form an ad-hoc subcommittee to review FY2025–26 Vine nonprofit grant and aid applications. Committee Chair Heather Kimball asked for volunteers; Councilmembers Kaguata, Galimba and Inaba volunteered to serve on the panel.
The committee noted that Finance must complete an initial eligibility review of 68 submitted applications before the ad-hoc panel begins scoring and deliberating. The item was postponed to the call of the chair so staff can complete the eligibility checks and then arrange the panel review schedule.

Committee members thanked staff for outreach to nonprofits and agreed to reconvene the ad-hoc panel scheduling when Finance completes its eligibility screening.
