Bailey said the draft UDC pulls together changes staff and consultants have discussed over the past year and that the public‑facing site, hosted by consultant Teresa Nichols, allows residents to search the draft and submit comments. "This really is just a call for help. Please go online, look at what we have online," Bailey said, adding staff will compile comments and return the UDC and engineering manual to the commission in March.
The commission heard that the draft reorganizes land use, development standards and subdivision rules, and includes several substantive topic areas that staff identified as having the most change: land‑use districts and nomenclature; historic preservation; and development standards (including landscaping and tree‑cover requirements).
