Lamar council approves first reading to rezone two Parkview Terrace parcels to R-2

The parcels identified in staff materials were listed as Parcel 12-08-376-012 and Parcel 12-08-376-013 (east and south ends of the park), which staff recommended be rezoned to R-2.
At the public hearing the council chair opened the meeting for comments and, seeing none, turned the matter to the council. Council members discussed whether R-2 zoning would allow mobile homes on the infill lots and confirmed the rezoning was intended to permit additional mobile homes rather than apartments. After brief discussion the council took a roll call vote and the ordinance motion carried.
The action recorded in the meeting amounted to approval of the ordinance's first reading; the transcript shows the vote as affirmative and the council indicated the motion carried. No public comments were recorded on the rezoning at the Feb. 4 hearing.
