Commissioners approve consent agenda including service agreements for recovery services, fisheries work and park waterline

The Skagit County Board of County Commissioners on Feb. 3 approved a 32-item consent agenda that included personal service agreements, vendor contracts and project approvals covering behavioral-health partnerships, emergency medical services, parks infrastructure and environmental nonprofit work.
A commissioner highlighted the county's personal service agreement with Tenfold Health, which supports the county's Northstar work to coordinate homelessness, substance-use, and mental-health services. "I appreciate the work they do... to reduce the cost of some of our issues of homelessness and substance, and mental health and substance issues by doing more proactive work," the commissioner said.
The consent agenda also included a personal service agreement with Mike Lankard, DO, who provides medical oversight for Emergency Medical Services; the board thanked the physician for his contributions to EMS medical decisions. The Parks and Recreation agenda included a waterline installation near Presentine Park by Marble Mount, an area the commissioner described as archaeologically significant for the Upper Skagit Tribal area; staff noted archaeological monitoring will be used because "virtually every time you put a shovel in the ground, you're gonna have a risk of something coming up."
Other approved agreements named in the meeting were with the Recovery Cafe of Skagit County, described by a commissioner as a productive local gathering place that supports people with substance and mental health issues; the Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group, noted for habitat and shoreline work; and a vendor agreement with Sunshine Tree Care for large tree removal that public-works crews cannot safely perform.
The board approved the full consent agenda by voice vote without recorded opposition. The motion to approve the items was made and seconded during the Feb. 3 meeting and the chair declared the motion passed.
